Acrylic on Canvas · E. Erskine · 2026
This painting depicts a white waterfall cascading down into a rushing riverbed interspersed with smooth, flat brown river rocks, all bordered above by a dense line of green reeds or tall grass. Moving upward, the midground transitions into layered horizontal bands, beginning with a bright golden-yellow field or sandbar that gives way to a calm turquoise waterway and a striking, dense strip of forest foliage colored in deep crimson, red, and pink autumn tones. The composition finishes in the background with a final wide band of light blue water resting at the base of low-lying, dark purple and green mountains under a solid, bright lime-yellow sky.
